It’s a new year of new (and old) films for Minicine. We kick off our 2013 programme at The Palace Picturehouse in Armley Mills Industrial Museum on Thursday 24th January with Park Chan-wook’s JSA.
JSA is a Korean military who-dun-it set within the demilitarised zone which sees neutral Swiss agents flown in to solve a mysterious murder that could result in drastic political repercussions.
With K-Pop all the rage these days we had considered a playlist of Asia’s very best musical exports. But then we thought na, JSA stands for Joint Security Area so let’s just do a playlist of acronyms instead.
There’s not a Gangam style in sight!
- 01 – B.Y.O.B. System of a Down
- 02 – D.A.N.C.E. Justice
- 03 – L.S.F. Kasabian
- 04 – E.T. Katy Perry
- 05 – L.A. Elliott Smith
- 06 – A.D.I.D.A.S. Korn
- 07 – C.L.U. Daft Punk
- 08 – F.E.A.R. Ian Brown
- 09 – D.I.S.C.O. Ottawan
- 10 – L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N Noah and The Whale
Now we like to think of ourselves as a generous and giving bunch here at Minicine so as this is our first screening of the year we’re giving you the chance to win a free, yes FREE, pair of tickets to our screening of JSA on January 24th.
All you have to do is leave a reply at the bottom of this page telling us what all the acronyms in today’s playlist stand for*. The first person to reply with a full list of correct answers… WINS!!
*F.E.A.R could simply spell ‘fear’ or could stand for any of the verses within the song itself. So, to make things easier and so there’s no confusion, controversy or debate, what saying inspired Ian Brown to write the song in the first place?
